Wall Hugger | Vellum Sim
This project features a stylized Vellum simulation of a soft alien creature that launches into a wall, sticks briefly, and then slides down. A slimy trail is left behind on the wall, enhancing the storytelling and visual punch of the motion.
The alien character was created by me, textured in Substance Painter, and simulated using Vellum Inflate to achieve soft body deformation and expressive motion. The slime effect was generated using a VDB of the intersection between the alien and the wall, adding a playful, slightly gross narrative detail. The final scene was rendered with Karma, focusing on motion, timing, and atmospheric lighting.
